Bugambilia

A dense, high-impasto bouquet fills the canvas in overlapping mounds of yellow, gold, and orange, built up with a palette knife so thick the paint casts its own shadow. Dark, looping black outlines coil through the blooms like scribbled rose centers, while red squiggles thread between the yellow masses. A patch of true red appears upper left and along the right edge. Green underpainting shows through as foliage. The arrangement sits in a dark navy vessel rendered with a few vertical black strokes suggesting basket ribs or stems, set against a mottled teal-and-coral background.
