Flowers 2020

A loaded bouquet fills a dark brown vase set on a red tabletop, painted in thick, ropey impasto against a flat, saturated yellow wall. The blooms read as a dense tangle of color rather than individual flowers — red roses, white petals, cobalt-blue clusters, magenta rings, and dark navy swirls all pressed into the canvas with a palette knife. Green leaf strokes thread through the arrangement, and the artist's signature appears in pale blue script at lower right. The yellow ground dominates the upper two-thirds, making the crowded, high-contrast bouquet read almost like fireworks against a solid backdrop.
