Relaxing Sunset

Thick, gestural strokes of gold and ochre sweep in dense horizontal bands across the canvas, interrupted by passages of deep burgundy and flashes of cobalt blue and red where the paint has been dragged and layered wet into wet. Loops of yellow pigment pool and drip near the base, catching the eye like the last glow pooling at the horizon. There is no sky, no water, no figure — only the accumulated warmth of the palette itself, smoldering and unhurried. Relaxing Sunset — an original work of art by Veronica Ruiz de Velasco.
