A horizon composition split roughly two-thirds to one-third: an upper expanse of heavily textured, palette-knife gold and burnt-orange strokes crowds the top of the canvas like a blazing sky, its impasto ridges catching light unevenly. A dark band of brown and near-black runs along the bottom, reading as shoreline or shadowed ground, broken by a few thin reddish and pale flecks at the seam between the two zones. The palette stays almost entirely warm — gold, amber, rust, chocolate brown — with no cool color anywhere. Signature in gold script, lower right.
