Esperoza Flores

A dark olive-green orb sits just above center, ringed by loops of bright yellow that read as stylized stems or leaves against a dense field of red, orange, and yellow dabbed brushwork. Thick vertical drips of red-orange run down through the composition like cut stalks, and a yellow-green rectangular band across the bottom suggests a table edge or vase rim anchoring the arrangement. The palette stays almost entirely in the warm range, with only small patches of green interrupting the reds and oranges. Veronica trained under Rufino Tamayo and Gilberto Aceves Navarro in the mid-1980s, and the loose, gestural mark-making here reflects that lineage.
