Gallery Veronica Ruiz de Velasco

Ilusion

A single band of white cuts horizontally across an otherwise unbroken field of thick, matte red, dividing the canvas into a narrow strip above and a much larger expanse below. Within that red field, faint circular and looping lines are scratched into the wet paint — a quiet sgraffito drawing, barely legible, that surfaces only as the light shifts across the ridges of pigment. The palette knife's texture is the real subject here: ridges, drags, and scrapes built up in monochrome, restrained rather than showy. Veronica's signature appears in soft pink-white script at lower right. Ilusion — an original work of art by Veronica Ruiz de Velasco. Authenticity & Terms.
