Just Thinking

Rendered almost entirely in loose cobalt and navy line against a bare white ground, a woman's profile tilts upward, chin lifted in a pose of quiet reverie. Her hair is gathered into a loose knot with a few strands escaping at the temple, sketched with the same quick, unlabored line that defines her collarbone and shoulder. To the right, a cluster of jagged, scribbled blue marks fans out beside her face — an almost musical staccato that reads as the visual static of active thought. The economy of line and the surrounding white space give the drawing an unfinished, in-the-moment immediacy, signed in the artist's own cursive at lower right.
