Oro — original painting by Veronica Ruiz de Velasco. Four small sailboats drift on a band of deep navy sea beneath a soft cream, sand and pale blue sky.

Oro

A soft field of cream, sand, and pale blue fills the upper canvas in loose, weathered strokes, giving way to a band of deep navy sea rendered in thick, sweeping palette-knife waves, where four small sailboats — one with a red hull and white-green sail, one green-hulled with a white sail, one with a white sail over a black hull, and one riding low in gold — drift along the dark horizon line.
