The Baptism

An infant in a lace-trimmed white gown lies at the center of the canvas, a hand entering from the right to pour water from a shell as a white dove hovers above. The figures rest inside a dense wreath of small impasto flowers in pink, red, yellow, and green, built up in thick dabs of paint that ring the entire composition.
