Paty Nena

Two profiles face each other across a blazing yellow ground, rendered in loose, gestural strokes that leave the brushwork visible as pure motion. The near figure is built from cool blues and teals with dark, ribbon-like hair; the far figure is layered in hot magenta and pink over a paler underpainting, the two palettes colliding at the center of the canvas like a conversation caught mid-sentence. The artist's signature runs in bold black script across the lower right, itself almost a third gestural mark in the composition. Paty Nena — an original work by Veronica Ruiz de Velasco.
