Virgin Mary and Jesus

Rendered in sweeping strokes of blue-green and gold against a coral-pink ground, a mother's head bows low over a child's upturned face, her hand cradling his chin in a close, private embrace. Thick impasto builds the veil in ribbons of color while the two faces emerge softly from the loose brushwork. Virgin Mary and Jesus — an original mixed technique by Veronica Ruiz de Velasco.
