Welcome To the Gallery
Rendered in loose strokes of colored pastel, a young woman's face turns in three-quarter profile, her wide grey-blue eyes and softly parted lips catching the only heavy shading in the piece. Her bangs and shoulder-length hair are built from parallel lines of ochre, rust, and gold laid side by side rather than blended, crowned by a striped headband in shades of teal and cobalt. Behind her, the pale ground dissolves into a loose scatter of pink, yellow, and violet spirals and two sweeping green arcs, keeping the mood light and unfinished rather than posed.
