Welcome To the Gallery
Flowers are life, Veronica Ruiz de Velasco has said — and she has painted them for as long as she has painted anything. Bouquets spill from pitchers and vases in coral, magenta and indigo, built from quick strokes that never quite resolve into one bloom before dissolving into the next. Many carry a name: Mamí Flores, Mi Nena Flowers, Flowers for my Father. A still life, in her hands, is rarely still.
