Water, and the light on it. Veronica Ruiz de Velasco paints the sea the way she paints a stage — the sun as much the subject as the waves, sails and horizons dissolving into bands of turquoise, gold and coral. Palm Beach and Cozumel, St Thomas and the Mediterranean, all held in the same warm Mexican palette. The titles keep returning to the sun: Sol, Solecito, Soleil.
